By the hand of renowned illustrator Sir Quentin Blake, Burberry reinventates. The new capsule collection combines Burberry’s iconic designs with the artist’s distinctive illustration style, which has captivated generations of readers for decades.

For Daniel Lee, Chief Creative Officer of Burberry, Blake’s drawings embody a very special magic: “Sir Quentin Blake’s illustrations capture a feeling of childlike magic. They have a very British character, and we wanted to bring his extraordinary creations into the world of Burberry.”

The collection includes women’s, men’s, and children’s fashion and serves as a canvas for some of the artist’s most iconic motifs. Among the works on display are hand-drawn pen and ink illustrations based on a 1971 ink drawing for the English edition of Aristophanes’ “The Birds.” These are complemented by previously unpublished drawings depicting playful figures interacting with nature.

The capsule collection centers around Burberry’s iconic trench coats crafted from lightweight, water-repellent tropical gabardine. The illustrations have been reinterpreted through sophisticated material techniques and handcrafted details. The “Pembury” model features a printed silk lining, while the slim-fit “Foxfield” is finished with tactile embroidery. Each garment bears the Burberry knight label inside, complemented by the signature of Sir Quentin Blake.

Silk also plays a central role in the collection. The illustrator’s artwork appears on knitted T-shirts, two-piece sets, ruffled dresses, and scarves. The range is complemented by T-shirts, tops, and sweatshirts made from soft cotton jersey. The signature motifs can be found on cotton twill baseball caps and cashmere scarves made in Scotland, featuring an exceptionally soft surface.

Sir Quentin Blake is one of Britain’s most important illustrators and became world-famous, particularly through his collaboration with children’s author Roald Dahl . He was knighted in 2013 for his services to illustration. In 2022, Queen Elizabeth II also appointed him a Companion of Honour.

Alongside the collaboration, Burberry is also announcing its commitment to supporting the arts. On June 5, 2026, the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration will open as the UK’s first permanent exhibition and educational venue dedicated exclusively to illustration. Burberry is supporting the centre with funding for training, workshops, inclusive community programs, and special LGBTQI+ family offerings, which are scheduled to begin in July.

With the Capsule Collection, Burberry bridges the gap between fashion, art and British cultural history – bringing the imaginative worlds of Sir Quentin Blake to the catwalks and wardrobes of today for the first time.
