With upcoming releases ‘Ride or Die’, ‘Ted Lasso’ and ‘High in the Clouds’, Emmy-winning actor and executive producer Hannah Waddingham continues to showcase her impressive creative range. Whether on stage, screen, or hosting major events, she brings a commanding presence shaped by decades of experience. Wearing STATNAIA and self-portrait for her George V Magazine cover story, she opens up as a leading lady in the West End and on Broadway before transitioning more prominently to television over the past eight years — quickly gaining Emmy, Critics’ Choice, HCA, and Golden Globe recognition.
Raised in a family of opera singers, Waddingham describes her path as inevitable. “It’s in my bones to be a grafter in the theatre,” she says. “In this country, you don’t go into it for fame or money. It’s all about the craft and the art of it.” That foundation built the resilience she carries into screen work: “You find that you’re made of such strong stuff that you just keep plowing on… That’s the connective tissue between the theatre and screen.”
