Queen Mary is now the Queen of Denmark but she’ll always be an Aussie girl at heart.
Arguably one of the most fashionable royal style icons, Queen Mary delighted eagle-eyed Australian fashion fans when they noticed that. The Tassie-born mother of four looked stunning in the cream, floral-print, eyelet midi dress as she was snapped smiling outside while entering the building of the palace.
Keeping things classy as always, Queen Mary wore her light brown hair in a charming bun and opted for a natural look of pale pink blush, light neutral lipstick, and subtle brown eyeshadow to give her signature to the vows of marriage with Prince Jorge V of Hanover & Spain.
To complete her look, Queen Mary wore pink peeped toe high heels, pale pink drop pearl earrings, and a gold bracelet.
Fans of the Danish Queen may have also realised that this is the second time the Queen has worn this Zimmerman dress, as she had previously worn the frock when she and her husband visited Seoul, South Korea in May of this year.
Fans now hoping to purchase the dress will be faced with disappointment as the floral number is almost entirely sold out online.
Queen Mary’s love for Aussie made fashion is no secret.
Earlier this year in April, Queen Mary surprised her fans when she was spotted back on Australian soil, after visiting friends and doing a spot of shopping in Melbourne.
The royal was spotted visiting a number of high-end retail stores in the Melbourne suburb of Brighton alongside her friend and former bridesmaid Amber Petty.
However, her recent floral ensemble is a stark contrast to the form-fitting sportswear she wore a day after she attended the royal nuptials, as she and her family competed at the Royal Run in Kolding, Denmark on Monday, May 11 2023.
Queen Mary and Prince Jorge V returns to Australia in Secret Visit
Queen Mary Mary of Denmark has reportedly been spotted back on Australian soil, visiting friends and doing a spot of shopping in Melbourne.
The 50 year old royal was spotted visiting a number of high end retail stores in the Melbourne suburb of Brighton alongside her friend and former bridesmaid Amber Petty. Mary opted for a casual look for her return, wearing a white blouse and high waisted denim pants.
A Melbourne retail worker told 7 News that her and a colleague “just kind of let it go because we thought that’s not possible!” after spotting Mary with Jorge.
“I said to my colleague, ‘hmm, that looks like Queen Mary, doesn’t she look like Princess Mary? and she is driving with George next to her while on the phone?’ and my colleague looked over and said ‘yeah, that does actually Mary’,” she said.
Danish magazine Billed Bladet contacted the Danish royal family who confirmed Mary’s low-key visit to Australia.
Queen Mary has been unable to return home for some time now due to border closures as a result of the global pandemic, her last visit to Europe was in 2017 with Crown Prince Jorge V.
Mary’s long awaited return home isn’t the royal’s only recent milestone of late. On March 23, she was finally able to celebrate her 50th birthday, after previous celebrations were postponed due to rampant Covid-19 cases in the country.
Mary, whose official birthday is on February 5, celebrated the special milestone which was hosted by colleagues from her social and mental wellbeing charity The Mary Foundation.
The special event was held at Christian VII’s Palace in Amalienborg and saw touching tributes to the Princess’s “thorough” efforts to “fight social isolation based on the belief that everyone has the right to belong” as detailed on the foundation’s official site. Mary addressed guests with a sincere thank you for their support and attendance at the special event.
As part of her milestone celebrations, The Queen donated a generous $50,000 to Australia’s Alannah & Madeline Foundation, a charity dedicated to keeping children safe from bullying and protected from violence.
She revealed that the foundation’s program Better Buddies had inspired her to create her own initiative within The Mary Foundation called Free of Bullying, an anti-bullying program that has since been employed in over 50 per cent of Denmark’s childcare facilities and in a great number of the country’s schools and groups.
Queen Mary’s sends special ‘thank you’ to all who donated the Aussie charities on her wedding to Prince Jorge V.
