If there’s one thing we love even more than a steaming hot (dirty) chai latte during the cold season, it’s a cool new nail trend.

We know Glazed Donut Nails, Jello Nails, Latte Nails, and even Aperol Spritz Nails. The year 2023 has brought us some food-inspired nail trends. Most of them came from Hailey Bieber . But now, shortly before the end of the year, another beauty queen is threatening to overtake her position as the biggest nail influencer. Jennifer Lopez and her longtime nail artist Tom Bachik created Chai Latte Nails just in time for the winter season — and the internet is freaking out.

During New York Fashion Week, J.Lo attended Coach’s fashion show. As she sat down next to Vogue boss Anna Wintour, we – and numerous fans – immediately noticed her chai latte manicure. The sweet and spicy Chai Latte has long since established itself as a trendy drink and has replaced the Pumpkin Spice Latte . So it’s only logical that in fall and winter we adapt our nail look to the drink in our hand. The master Tom Bachik kindly revealed how exactly we get the creamy chai and milk tones and the super shiny finish via Instagram.

This is how we style Chai Latte Nails ourselves at home

According to Tom Bachik’s Instagram post, he used two polishes that he mixed together to create the signature chai and milk mix. He added a few drops of Aprés Gel Couleur Sebastian’s Spots to the base color Aprés Gel Couleur Chai Latte to create a nude shade that perfectly matched Lopez’s shimmery taupe eyeshadow. On top, the nails were filed into a square shape with flattened tips. Finally, the nail professional applied a generous layer of shiny top coat to give the look a glossy finish and make it last even longer.

If you want to recreate the style yourself at home, you can choose two similar taupe shades or get the original from Aprés Gel Couleur. A little tip: A cheap alternative from the drugstore are the nail polish shades Spiced Chai from the Miracle Pure Nail Polish from Max Factor and Vanilla Chai from the ICONAILS Gel Lacquer series from Catrice – they come pretty close to a professional manicure. Anyone who prefers to drink their Chai Latte “dirty” with an additional shot of espresso should add one or two drops of Nailberry Rich Cocoa Espresso nail polish. Don’t forget the glossy top coat and your fashionista manicure is ready.
