Tatiana Schlossberg died at the age of only 35 from cancer. Now, Caroline Kennedy tearfully remembers her daughter.
Her death sent shockwaves around the world. On December 30, 2025, the death of Tatiana Schlossberg was made public. Her family announced via social media: “Our beautiful Tatiana passed away this morning. She will forever be in our hearts.” The daughter of Caroline Kennedy and Edwin Schlossberg had been bravely battling cancer. In November 2025, just shortly before her death, Schlossberg had revealed her diagnosis – acute myeloid leukemia – in an emotional essay in The New Yorker magazine. The disease had been discovered after the birth of her second child in May 2024, when her doctor noticed an abnormality in her blood work.

The shock still runs deep within the Kennedy family. Recently, Caroline Kennedy publicly fought back tears as she remembered her daughter Tatiana. The daughter of former US President John F. Kennedy (who died at 46) paid tribute to her late daughter on Sunday (May 31) at the presentation of this year’s “JFK Profile in Courage Award.” During her emotional speech, Caroline Kennedy said through tears and with a trembling voice: “Today, we remember Tatiana most of all, who served on the board of this Presidential Library and, in her beautiful, wonderful, and far too short life, embodied all that my parents stood for.”

The guests, over 650 people in total, then applauded Tatiana for almost 20 seconds. Caroline, meanwhile, gathered her strength and managed a quiet “Thank you.” In this context, Caroline also acknowledged the parents of Tatiana’s husband, George Moran. She said with a smile during the ceremony, “This year we even have new family members here. I am very happy to welcome Garrett and Mary Moran.”
The 68-year-old further remarked: “Politics is a joint endeavor of the family, and I am deeply grateful to all those family members who are here tonight and whose years of support have kept my father’s spirit alive and made this institution a living monument.”
