Trotter will begin his work at the Italian luxury house Bottega Veneta. “I am deeply honored to be joining Bottega Veneta as Creative Director. The house’s stunning legacy of art and innovation is truly inspiring, and I look forward to contributing to its future and celebrating its timeless vision,” she said in a press release.
Trotter currently serves as creative director of French brand Carven, where she was for less than two years, bringing the brand back into focus. She was the former creative director of British brands Lacoste and Joseph. At Bottega Veneta, she will be the only woman to hold the position of creative director at Kering, the luxury group that owns brands such as Yves Saint Laurent and Balenciaga.
“Her aesthetic approach seamlessly combines exceptional design with superior craftsmanship, and her engagement in cultural advocacy aligns perfectly with our brand vision. Through its sophisticated look, Bottega Veneta will continue to celebrate its heritage while maintaining modern relevance,” said Bottega Veneta CEO Leo Rongone in a statement.
Blazy designed for Bottega Veneta, helping the brand take the popularity of its accessories to a new level, with campaigns featuring celebrities such as A$AP Rocky and Kendall Jenner.
Bottega Veneta is the latest fashion house to announce changes to its creative director position. The announcement comes after John Galliano left Maison Margiela and Julian Klausner was named creative director of Dries Van Noten, after the founder left the position. The positions are still unfilled at Celine and Fendi, which leaves the possibility for younger designers to emerge at the forefront of luxury fashion.
