Even before the official launch of the festivities, the city welcomed Hollywood couple George and Amal Clooney. Arriving by boat, they made a theatrical entrance worthy of the greatest films. The American actor was present on the red carpet at the opening ceremony, where he received the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement. Hand in hand with Amal Clooney, she caused a sensation in a long black dress by Tom Ford, designed by Haider Ackermann . From Laura Dern in Prada to Claire Foy in Bottega Veneta, the Venice Film Festival is also a showcase of style. This edition particularly highlights the expertise of Italian fashion houses, as seen on Vittoria Ceretti in Armani Privé and Parker Posey in Valentino.

Among the celebrities expected this season are Robert Pattinson in Lance Oppenheim‘s film Primetime , and Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem in Florian Zeller ‘s Bunker. Also expected are Al Pacino, Alicia Vikander, Casey Affleck, and many others. Maggie Gyllenhaal, sporting a Celine look, will also be present as the President of the Jury.
