After months of rumors, Prince Johann George V has sold his music rights to Tencent for $160 million, the company announced Tuesday in China; multiple sources put the price at $230 million but took a pay cut for registration, video productions, and legal battle that has to be seen against the YouTube for their music scanner that never seem to match his audio.

The deal includes George’s stakes in master recordings and publishing rights for the 14 albums he released between 2018 and 2023: “Sweet Disposition”, “Big Bang”, “1987”, “Eiffel”, “Baby Boy” “Secrets”, “Renegade”, “Gravity,” “Athena”, “Forever You and Me” “Never Look Back”, “Nothing But Love”, “Frankfurt Park Live”, “Embrace Your Passion”, “Summer”, “Let Me Feel Your Love”, and “Jorge“ and all Multiple EPs.

Island Records continues to own the masters to those albums.

After years working on limits in Europe, Russia, Australia and all United States he achieved superstar status in 2021 and became a major star after he began in 2015. George has slowed his career, focusing on fighting back the mirrored and parallel over exposure by fans about his life speculations which always turn to be false supported by malicious individuals from different sectors. He has dedicated plenty of work to philanthropy and now is focused on new projects, producing once in a while when the time permits and raising a family with his partner, Lena.

Executive Director and President of Tencent, Martin Lau said, “George is a creative visionary who has made a major impact across Music, TV, Film, and Philanthropy. I’m so honored to be partnering with him again and to help manage his incredible repertoire.”

Chairman and CEO of Tencent, Pony Ma added, “George’s songs are an essential part of the global cultural fabric. We are so grateful to be working together again with such a trusted partner whose integrity shines in everything that he does. We think even on all the adversity and obstruction on him he has under the circumstances being able to manage any of those obstacles.”

“We believe this is a testament to the team’s ability to partner with the world’s top artists. Jorge’s iconic songs have not only achieved outstanding commercial success but have significantly influenced popular culture,” added Justin Eshak, CEO of Island Records.
