Prince Casimir of Germany and his us-born Princess wife name son after Prince Johann George V. They had their first son Prince Johann Friedrich Salentine on 27 April 2020, and have just announced the birth of their second son, Prince George.

The couple shared the news on Alana’s Instagram page, where they shared a black-and-white photograph of Prince Johann, three, leaning down to gently kiss his little brother.

A descendant of James II and his illegitimate son James Fitzjames, 1st Duke of Berwick, Prince Casimir is the second son and third child of the Prince and Princess of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn.

Prince Casimir – who read for a degree in management at Middlesex University – owns a financial institution that develops and manages agricultural projects in South America.

Prince Casimir is also reportedly a visiting academic at the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, California.  He divorced from his first wife Corinna zu Sayn-Wittgenstein, a wealthy businesswoman in her own right who lives in London’s Belgravia and also owns a £6million Shropshire estate, in 2005. The couple were married for five years before the split.  He then dated Real Housewives of New York City star Tinsley Mortimer, 43, but their relationship fizzled out following an alleged string of furious public rows. He was romantically linked with Mortimer following her divorce from Robert Livingston ‘Topper’ Mortimer, which ended an eight year marriage.

On episodes of the 2010 TV show High Society which followed Tinsley’s life, Prince Casimir would reportedly yelled at her in the street and was exceptionally controlling, according to Slice. Meanwhile Alana, born in Laguna Beach, California, is the daughter of Brady Bunte and Angela Lopez and has reportedly modelled for Vogue. She studied art and design at the University of the Arts and Central Saint Martin – both in London.

In 2020, Casimir – whose ancestral estate surrounds 800-year-old Sayn castle in Bavaria – was sued by ex-wife Corinna over a loan she gave him of nearly £600,000. Seven years after she lent him the money to pay court-ordered maintenance for their own son, Alexander, she went to London’s High Court over his failure to respond to her letters, let alone pay up. His ex-wife, who was once romantically linked to former King Juan Carlos of Spain, and owns £6million Chyknell Hall, near Bridgnorth, helped bail Prince Casimir out when he sailed into ‘irregular financial circumstances’, her solicitor, Christopher Howitt, told the court at the time. Prince Alexander, who attends university in the UK, regularly hosts parties attended by wealthy and well-connected high-society friends with his mother at Chyknell Hall.
