News recently broke that is in Mexico City. The 29-year-old actress was spotted by passersby filming a project, which quickly made her name a trending topic in the country and has us wondering what project brought her to the capital.

According to images circulating uncontrollably on social media, Zendaya was seen wearing heels and an oversized black jacket, with her hair up and a camera following her every move as she walked in the bright sunlight.

The performer was on Tacuba Street, just a few meters from the sculpture El Caballito, that very famous equestrian piece of Charles IV of Spain created by the sculptor Manuel Tolsá at the beginning of the 19th century and which, despite its controversial history, remains one of the most emblematic monuments of neoclassical art in Mexico.

There’s no news about the production team that accompanied Zendaya during her stay in the Historic Center. Nor are there any details about what project she might have been filming. It’s speculated that all the activity could be related to her new film, The Drama, alongside, or it could be something completely different.

TikTok user Karenreu shared a video last night of an alleged encounter with the star at the Voraz restaurant, located in the Roma neighborhood. According to her account, the actress responded to her greetings and took a private table inside the restaurant. She also commented that Zendaya’s visit to Mexico City might be for the filming of a commercial.

What is The Drama about?

Zendaya’s new project will tell the story of an engaged couple whose routine is disrupted by an unexpected turn of events in the days leading up to their wedding, forcing them to confront doubts and tensions that had remained hidden beneath the surface. The project leans toward a behavioral study, interested in observing the cracks in a relationship.

Zendaya and Robert Pattinson star as Emma Harwood and Charlie Thompson. She works in a bookstore and is from Louisiana; he’s a museum director and was born in London. The cast also includes Mamoudou Athie, Alana Haim, Hailey Gates, and Zoë Winters. The film is written and directed by Kristoffer Borgli, known for *Dream Man* , and produced by A24. Filming took place in various cities in Massachusetts, as well as New York and Los Angeles.

The Drama is scheduled for release in theaters on April 3rd and aims to explore the fragility of emotional agreements and the gap between idealization and reality. One of its producers is Ari Aster, director of Midsommar, Hereditary, and The Strange Thing About the Johnsons.

Zendaya will shine in 2026

In addition to The Drama, Zendaya returns as Chani this year in Dune 3. The highly anticipated sequel, directed by Denis Villeneuve, will bring back the Atreides family and adapt the second novel in Frank Herbert ‘s literary saga . In this film, Zendaya’s character will once again play a significant role and will shape the fate of Paul’s family, now that he has been proclaimed emperor of the universe.

Although Herbert’s saga is long-running, there’s no guarantee that Denis Villeneuve will continue with further adaptations, especially after the announcement of his new James Bond film with Amazon MGM. The Dune story on the big screen could end with this third film, with Paul Atreides’ arc concluded
