Emily Blunt (43) is taking a year off from filmmaking. The actress, who is currently promoting the drama ‘Disclosure Day’, wants to focus entirely on her family.
During an interview on the podcast ‘Table for Two with Bruce Bozzi’, the actress spoke about her decision to take a sabbatical. “I’m not going to work this year,” the British actress explained. “I worked quite a lot last year, and my oldest is nine, so we’re in the last year of single digits.” The star is raising her two daughters, Hazel (11) and Violet (9), with her husband, John Krasinski. The girls are simply her priority right now. “I feel like there are cornerstones in their day that are so important when they’re little. And those are: ‘Will you wake me up? Will you take me to school? Will you pick me up? Will you put me to bed?’ I just want to be there for all of them for a good while. I’ve just felt it in my bones.”

Emily Blunt has gone to the dogs
But that doesn’t mean Emily Blunt doesn’t love her work. She spent the past year having a “wonderful time” on film sets, but it’s now time to reduce the number of time-consuming projects. In addition to her children, she’s also welcomed a new family member.

“We got a puppy from the shelter, who is absolutely wonderful. I didn’t really want a dog, but the kids kept asking, and John was all for it. I don’t mind getting up early for the dog now, because it gives John and me time to really talk before the kids wake up,” Emily Blunt said happily.
