Officer jacket: the mid-season outerwear trend

Inseparable from the history of Balmain, the officer jacket made its mark on the fashion scene during the house’s spring-summer 2009 show. Subsequently, a host of personalities wore it, like Rihanna, who wore it in a denim version, or Beyoncé, who opted for a model embroidered with rhinestones. Its maxi shoulders, its marked waist, its shiny buttons and braids created a silhouette full of contrasts, worn with slim jeans and a pair of high heels. A few years earlier, in 2005, Kate Moss already wore the officer jacket, in a cream version with silver details, at the Glastonbury festival.
