The Sovereign Order of Malta, Supporter of The Medical Profession, Celebrates Its 43rd Anniversary

The salons of the Bellevue Palace in Bern recently hosted the 43rd ball of the Sovereign Order of Malta, one of the most anticipated charity events of the Swiss winter. Committed for centuries to providing medical and social assistance and support to vulnerable people, the Order used the evening to reiterate the importance of its missions in Switzerland and internationally.

The Sovereign Order of Malta celebrated its 43rd anniversary in 2025. For the occasion, many members of the aristocracy gathered in Switzerland amidst discussions on social support. 

Its Swiss president, Nicolas de Buman, emphasized the moral responsibility to “never turn a blind eye to those whom life makes vulnerable.” 

Among the guests were several European dignitaries, including Prince and Princess Pierre d’ArenbergArchduke Maximilian of Austria-Tuscanyand Princesses Maria Carolina and  Maria Chiara of Bourbon-Two Sicilies. In an atmosphere blending elegance, music, and commitment, the ball served as a reminder that the tradition of this event can become a powerful vehicle for solidarity.
