Leadership change at BMW Switzerland: Sylvia Neubauer becomes the new President and CEO from July 2026. The manager with 25 years of experience succeeds Sergio Solero, who returns to Italy.

Sylvia Neubauer becomes the new CEO of BMW (Schweiz) AG. The 49-year-old takes over the role on 1 July 2026. However, the regulatory approvals are still pending. With this move, the BMW Group deliberately relies on international brand and sales expertise for the Swiss market.
Sergio Solero Moves to BMW Italia
Neubauer succeeds Sergio Solero, who led BMW (Schweiz) AG since March 2024. Solero now returns to Italy. There, he again takes on the role of President and CEO of BMW Italia S.p.A. Moreover, he already led this company successfully between 2014 and 2019.
In Switzerland, Solero also set clear priorities. Thus, he consistently advanced electromobility, sustainability and customer focus. Consequently, he hands over a well-positioned company to his successor.
Sylvia Neubauer 25 Years of Experience
Sylvia Neubauer brings over 25 years of international leadership experience. She handled strategy, marketing, sales and digital transformation. Since 2023, she has led the global strategy of BMW M as Vice President Customer, Brand & Sales.
Previously, Neubauer served as Vice President Corporate Strategy of the BMW Group. In addition, she gained early experience outside the car industry. For instance, she worked at Deutsche Lufthansa, the E‑Plus Group and ProSiebenSat.1.
Switzerland Ranks as a Demanding Car Market
For Neubauer, Switzerland ranks among Europe’s most innovative markets. Therefore, she says she looks forward to the new task. Together with the team and the dealer partners, she wants to expand the BMW Group’s position.
Bernhard Kuhnt, Senior Vice President Region Europe of BMW AG, also praises the choice. Neubauer combines expertise in brand management, sales and transformation. Precisely these factors decide success in the fiercely competitive Swiss market.
