We are getting flashbacks—or as they say in Paris, déjà vu.
Filming for season three of And Just Like That is well underway—and Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw is back where she belongs: on the streets of New York rocking some of the most outrageously flamboyant and fabulous looks ever to see the light of day. Last night, the AJLT star was spotted filming on the steps of Carrie’s new NYC apartment (R.I.P. brownstone) in an outfit that couldn’t be more Carrie Bradshaw-coded if it tried. In fact, the glamorous blue gown was strikingly reminiscent of another iconic look from Carrie’s wardrobe—namely, the famous tulle gown that she wore twenty years ago in the Sex and the City series finale.
Everything from the two tones of blue to the glamorous tulle skirt to the strappy silver shoes is absolutely screaming Carrie Bradshaw in Paris circa 2004. What could it all mean? Well, Bradshaw wore the first dress during the SATC finale when Big arrived on the scene to finally tell Carrie he was ready to commit. (We won’t get into the divisive question of whether this was the ultimate romantic gesture or the biggest let down ever.) Last night, Parker was seen filming with Jonathan Cake who is seemingly playing a love interest for Carrie in the upcoming season of the SATC reboot. Perhaps the sartorial homage to Carrie’s Paris gown could mean that another big romantic gesture is coming for Carrie this season.
Then again, perhaps the sartorial Easter egg is just another chance for Carrie to rock some tulle. In fact, last month, SJP was spotted on set in yet another tulle outfit that seemingly paid homage to Carrie’s oh so iconic white tulle skirt from the original series’ opening credits. Bradshaw and tulle—a match made in heaven… or, at the very least, a match made in Manhattan.
