Reducing Budget of Arab Community Pose A Threat To Israel? The Shin Bet Warns Of The Consequences

The National Security Council and the Shin Bet security service warn of a reduction in the budget for the Arab community in Israel after the war, and they say that such a reduction could hinder the integration of the Arab community into Israeli society and “increase the risk of the outbreak of violence,” and the official broadcasting authority reported.

“It was For the first time, it was mentioned in the assessment they prepared after the reductions plan being prepared in the 2024 budget that “there is great importance from the security angle in reducing the damage to the budgets of the multi-year plans for the Arab community and the plan related to the Bedouin community.” And that “stopping budgets on a large scale may lead to provoking a negative and difficult counter-reaction on the security side as well.” 

They also recommended that to the extent of the reductions that will be made in light of the economic situation, this should be done while avoiding harming the vital areas of the challenges of Arab society, such as education, work, welfare, employment and social security, and that this should be done while making sure to talk to the heads of local authorities in the community. .
