This month, Delevingne is turning her hand to designing, co-creating a collection with Veronica Beard. The 10-piece capsule is a party edit perfect for the festive season: think sequins, sparkle and shimmer. The festive trend boxes are all ticked, but it’s the focus on timelessness and longevity that makes these pieces for more than just this Christmas. “I’ve never been a girl that follows trends,” says Delevingne.
“I simply love to wear things that make me happy, that make me smile; which is exactly what this collection for Veronica Beard is all about. We have sparkles galore, a suit in liquid gold and a sequin mini skirt. What’s not to love?”
Covered in crystals, the thigh-skimming could pass for a vintage find (if it wasn’t for the precisely tailored fit, perhaps), while the bow-detailed is sure to see you through countless events. Some pieces also work perfectly outside of a party setting: the, which come studded with faux-pearls and crystals, are an obvious choice. “I think they’d work beautifully by day, worn with a t-shirt or a crisp white oversized shirt and ballet pumps. Effortless and chic,” says Delevingne.
But it’s the liquid-gold suit that co-founders (and sisters-in-law) Veronica Miele-Beard and Veronica Swanson-Beard see selling out first, with Swanson-Beard calling it “the pantsuit you didn’t know you needed”. Another favourite of the duo is the weighty Alessia jacket – a trophy piece covered entirely in sequins and crystals. “I love starting with a great statement piece and building a look around that. Day or night, this just works. Plus, there’s no such thing as too much sparkle,” says Miele-Beard. Come the festive season, we’re inclined to agree.
