Al-Ghais pointed out that, “When discussing climate change, there is no single solution suitable for everyone, and in order to move forward, there must be several paths, not one path.”

A person connected to the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries revealed to Al-Sharq that OPEC “aspires to more effective participation in the COP29 summit” hosted by the Azerbaijani capital, Baku, especially since the conference will be held in a member state of the OPEC+ alliance.

The informed person added that OPEC will confirm during its participation in COP 29 that there is no single solution or method to secure future and sustainable energy, but rather it must rely on all sources of energy, fossil and renewable. “Without fossil energy, the world will not be able to provide safe and sustainable energy, especially in light of increasing demand,” he said.

KUNA reported that during his meeting with Iev, Al-Ghais stressed “the necessity of concerted efforts and building a comprehensive dialogue aimed at strengthening climate action.”To reduce emissions“It is the main goal of the Paris Climate Agreement, to ensure a sustainable future for humanity, reliable energy security, development of the required technology, and financing projects to combat climate change.”

Energy analyst and editor-in-chief of the British Petroleum Economist, Paul Hicken, said in an interview with Al-Sharq that “OPEC countries have proven their presence in the dialogue on the energy transition since the COP28 summit in Dubai, where they made it clear that the oil and gas industry plays an important role in any energy transition.” “.

He noted that the Emirates and other oil-producing countries in the Middle East have already begun building liquefied gas stations and investing in clean energy sources such as wind farms and solar energy, in addition to launching green hydrogen production projects, the best example of which is the giant NEOM project in the Kingdom,” according to him. That’s it.
