In the previous season, Emily’s chief Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) asked her to open a new office of Agent Grateau in the Eternal City. The clip reveals that the main heroine will be fully focused on the job when Emily in Paris returns on December 18. Emily has a new man in life (Eugenio Franceschini as Marcello Muratori), new obstacles and completely down the view of life.

“She’s a bolder, braver, stronger and an adventurer,” Collins says. “He’s in a new city and a new country, looking for his place—in love, life, and work.”

What’s the new season?

Although Emily always radiates her can-to-standing, the trailer also hints at certain challenges. Marcello is so captivated by her that she flirts even in meetings, but his mother Antonia (Anna Galiena) is not impressed by the ideas of the American marketing manager. At least Emily has a new, flawless style — a blend of Italian adventures and French savoir-faireasavoir-faires — and surely steps in its heels.

Collins says the new look seems like Emily’s message: “I’m mature, take me seriously” — but she’s also willing to take life less seriously. “It’s like she’s playing—and literally and figuratively—part the burden she was carrying.”

What do the series’ creators say?

The creator and executive producer Darren Star calls this season “one of his favourites.” “The story looks very fresh. The relationships are more mature, and the whole team has a lot of room to shine.”

The trailer gives us insight into stories that will be “greater, richer and deeper”:
