Margot Robbie is in the city of love, and she’s dressing the part. Stepping out in Paris, the actor was seen wearing a black-on-black bustier-and-skirt set with touches of floral detailing, making for an effortless, romantic look that fit right in with the fashion capital’s typical French-girl set.

Her top, with its sleeveless, square neckline and basque-waist silhouette, kicked things off with a timeless vintage feel reminiscent of the corsetry she and stylist Andrew Mukamal selected for the Wuthering Heights press tour earlier this year. But while her Catherine Earnshaw-era self might have worn the bustier with a cage-crinoline miniskirt or a dramatic Victorian gown, here, the actor paired it with something more minimalistic.
Supporting a local Australian label, the Aussie turned to With Jéan for a pencil skirt that was the perfect match to her top. Crafted from cotton, it was designed with a low-rise fit and midi-length hem, with a slight flare at the knees and a little front slit. Floral appliqués adorned it down one leg, camouflaging into the fabric to create a subtle pattern you’ll be squinting to get a better look at. (And you should.)
With Robbie’s accessories, also black, the old romance of the ensemble was given a distinctly modern twist. On her arm, the star carried a leather Alaïa Le Teckel bag, known for its sleek elongated body and long tubular handles. And for shoes, she went with an ultra-high T-bar heel from fashion’s favorite footwear brand, Jude. The stilettos featured the perpendicular straps that give the style its name, as well as an extra ankle strap for support. We don’t think Catherine could be running around the Yorkshire moors in these, but they’re perfect for Paris.
