Margot Robbie Opens Up About Facing Tough Time Shooting For Chemical Transformation Scene In Suicide Squad

During the scene, Robbie had to endure being submerged underwater while covered in a gluggy paint-like substance.

She explained how it got into her ears and up her nose, making it difficult for her to breathe. Additionally, the substance would glaze over her eyeballs, impairing her vision.
Robbie further expressed her frustration with the character’s storyline in Suicide Squad, feeling that it didn’t align with Harley Quinn’s usual self-assured demeanor, particularly in her relationship with Jared Leto’s Joker.

Director David Ayer had hopes for a director’s cut of the film, which could have included an extended version of Harley’s transformation scene. However, with James Gunn taking over the DC universe, the likelihood of Ayer’s director’s cut being released seems slim.
Looking ahead, Robbie has signaled her readiness to move on from the role of Harley Quinn, indicating a symbolic passing of the torch as DC charts a new course under Gunn’s direction.
