The show was organized in honor of Trans Visibility Day and represented a third of the MDHS Foundation, organized by Bobbi Salvör Menuez and John Mollett to support the Trans Justice Funding Project . Most of the project is supported by big celebrities, and Madonna was certainly one of them when she sat in the front row of the show, wearing an outfit provided by one of the participating designers.
Madonna wore a combination by Willy Chavarria. She paired the slim-fitting jacket with sharp lapels, which rose above Madonna’s body like mountain peaks, with matching black bermuda shorts. Underneath she wore a white shirt with an equally sharp collar and large cuffs that were folded over the cropped sleeves. The ensemble was completed with a gold and silver cardigan, black silk tie, and sealed in Madonna style, with a large cross pendant placed over the tie (a nod to “Like a Prayer”).
To round out the look, she picked out a few accessories from her wardrobe, including vintage Chanel fingerless gloves (which Madonna said were given to her by Karl Lagerfeld), a Lady Dior bag and a pair of oxford shoes from Bally. “Dare to be different,” Madonna told a reporter that night.
After the salon-style show, an online store will be available where customers can purchase the pieces that appeared in the show. These pieces will be available through surprise sales throughout April, which will be announced on
the MDHS Instagram profile.
