Kaia Gerber is shedding light on her life in a new cover story—both professionally and personally.
In one photo as part of her cover shoot for Harper’s Bazaar, Gerber goes pantsless, wearing a plunging, ripped T-shirt and thigh-high stockings, a cap atop her head and a tan jacket loosely slung over her frame.

The supermodel wears low heels and her brunette hair down, her glam a combination of a smoky eye and a nude lip. In other shots, Gerber is topless with nothing but a cardigan tied around her neck, sheer panties pulled up above her belted jeans. In another photo, she provocatively lifts up a white tank, and in yet another shot she poses in a red leather minidress. Another image shows her in a black leather jacket, bra, jeans, and a tiara.
In the accompanying cover story, she talks about her childhood being raised by fellow supermodel Cindy Crawford, calling it “pretty isolated,” but “in a really great way” and “as normal as it could have been.”

Gerber is the younger of Crawford’s two children with husband Rande Gerber; she has an older brother, Presley, who is two years her senior. “It’s so interesting to articulate your own childhood, because I have a brother who’s two years older, and our memories are completely contradictory, which is really fascinating and I think has taught me so much about how multiple realities can exist at once,” she said.
In the article, Gerber said her childhood ended at age 15, when she started being homeschooled to accommodate her burgeoning modeling career. Of Crawford, Gerber said, “She doesn’t give out advice unless you ask. But if you ask, get ready, because she’ll be very honest in ways that, sometimes, it’s hard to hear.”

“She’s usually right, which is infuriating, but she’s also very willing to let me make a mistake that she made 30 years ago,” Gerber said.
Of modeling, Gerber admitted that she’s “quite happy to be a vessel. It’s not lost on me that part of my job is just being what people want me to be and being a canvas or mirror for people to reflect their own ideas onto.” Later, she added that she is “a shape-shifter. I let my identity be that I can transform, rather than what I transformed into.”

Of being misunderstood, Gerber told the outlet, “The fact that I constantly talk about it means I have an issue with it. I don’t think it’s something that will ever be conquered, and I’m coming to terms with that. Sometimes it’s easier to know that the projection that you are making of yourself onto the world isn’t the entire you.”
Gerber—who is dating actor Lewis Pullman—doesn’t talk much about her personal life in the interview, but she does tell the publication, “I would say I romanticize. I don’t know if I’m a romantic. I’m a daydreamer. I play out every scenario in my head. I can kind of convince myself that someone is anything that I want, even if they do everything to prove that they’re not. My imagination is really strong, and it’s been such a gift in my work. Not always a gift in relationships.”

Back in October, Gerber commented on her relationship with Pullman on the “Therapuss with Jake Shane” podcast, telling him that “a lot is being healed in this relationship.”

She added that in past relationships, “I would completely just change my personality and my values for someone. I always dated people that were older than me, and so I was very willing to give up everything.”
“I was like, ‘I can show you I love you by completely giving up my life for you,’ which is actually not how you build respect and trust and is not good in the long run,” she said.

The two, who have been together for a year now, “have been spending a lot of time together, and things feel easy and natural between them,” a source told People. “Kaia’s really into Lewis, and things are going great.”
