In Los Angeles, everyone’s calendar the week leading up to the Oscars is packed with back-to-back events. Numerous glamorous dinners and cocktail parties happening, standing out in Hollywood demands something special: an iconic venue, a Grammy award-winning performance, a carefully selected guest list, and possibly even an appearance by Donatella Versace herself. The Versace and Net-A-Porter Icons Cocktail party last night successfully met all these criteria.
In attendance were Channing Tatum, Jon Batiste, January Jones, Simu Liu, Alvaro Morte, Precious Lee, Rumer Willis, Tallulah Willis, Marisa Tomei, Camila Alves, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Teyana Taylor, Victoria Monet, Tiffany Haddish, Storm Reid, Odell Beckham Jr, and more. It was an evening dedicated to celebrating Versace Icons, described by a press release as “individuals who are driven by passion and purpose to transform the every day into the extraordinary.” Co-hosted by Net-A-Porter president Alison Loehnis, the event aimed to gather icons recognized for their pioneering contributions in their respective fields and professions—and the guest list certainly reflected that ambition.
Tatum and Donatella smoldered in sleek, all-black Versace outfits. Jon Batiste stood out in head-to-toe brown leather, greeting both acquaintances and new faces as he navigated the room. At some point, Donatella ventured outside, drawing the attention of the flashing cameras just before the performance began.
The entertainment for the night was provided by 2024 Grammy winner Coco Jones, who performed a three-song set. Despite the rain earlier in the evening, it had paused in time for her performance, leading Jones to acknowledge the weather with a playful “shout out to rain!” before beginning her set with the song “Rain,” to which guests swayed in unison.
Though the cocktail hour was scheduled to conclude at 8 PM, as the time neared and guests conversed about their subsequent plans, there was a noticeable reluctance to depart. The attendees continued to mingle far beyond the designated end time, suggesting that the Versace party was indeed a top contender for the week’s most outstanding event.
