As the screen faded to black after the final episode of Euphoria, many viewers may have wondered (or hoped) that the end of the season was nearing. However, this story is not over yet. The third season will have eight episodes. While viewers are in suspense, HBO revealed exciting information about the finale of the third season of Euphoria: the eighth episode will last 93 minutes.
For HBO, that’s (almost) a record length. The longest episode in the network’s history so far is the pilot of Vinyl, which runs for 112 minutes. Among the longer episodes are the 93-minute finale of The Wire , the 90-minute finale of the third season of The White Lotus, and the third episode of the eighth season of Game of Thrones, which is 82 minutes long.
Considering how dark and tense Season 3 of Euphoria was for viewers (from sexual exploitation, to a toe being cut off, to a drug-induced death), we’re not sure if these extra minutes should be considered a positive thing. We’ll be watching until the very end, though, because we’ve already come this far and, like Rue, it seems like there’s no going back.
We have one more clue about the final episode: we know it’s called “In God We Trust. ” And while things look pretty dangerous for Rue, there are a number of theories on Reddit that suggest the ending could bring her what she’s always been looking for – a stable life.
