Sebastián Piñera, former president of Chile, died this afternoon at the age of 74 in a plane accident in the rural sector of Ilihue, in the Los Ríos region. In that town, a private helicopter crashed into Lake Ranco with at least four occupants on board.
According to the first information, the aircraft took off in the middle of a rainy day in the area and, after a few minutes of flight, it lost lift and fell into the lake. Until now, the identity and fate of the occupants are unknown.
