«I am honored to take on this dual role between Emporio Armani and Giorgio Armani and
deeply grateful to Silvana and Leo for welcoming me into their world» said the new creative director of Emporio Armani and Giorgio Armani accessories.

Dario Vitale is the new Creative Director of Emporio Armani and Giorgio Armani accessories. He is the first to hold this role outside the family.

What has been rumored in the fashion world for weeks is now official: Dario Vitale has become the new Creative Director of Emporio Armani. In the 20 years since graduating from Istituto Marangoni in Milan, the Campania-born designer gained experience at Dsquared and Bottega Veneta during the time Tomas Maier was at the helm of the design office. Then, for 14 years until 2025, he worked alongside Miuccia Prada and Fabio Zambernardi and became Design Director and Brand Image Director of Miu Miu. Here, all critics agree that his contribution to the brand’s success and meteoric growth has been significant. In March 2025, he was appointed Chief Creative Officer of Versace: a historic role because it marked the first time a non-family member had taken up the role.

A few months after leaving Miu Miu to take over the creative helm at Versace, the Prada Group will acquire the Medusa brand from Capri Holdings, and a few days later—but the two events are unrelated—Dario Vitale will leave his role, just nine months after his appointment.

Meanwhile, Vitale has presented only one collection, Spring Summer 2026 , as Creative Director of Versace, applauded for its fresh and visionary narrative that was anticipated by a very interesting creative project entitled “Versace Embodied”, which brought together the contributions of artists, image-makers and masters of writing, including Andrea Modica, Camille Vivier, Collier Schorr, Eileen Myles, Stef Mitchell and Steven Meisel .

If in December 2025 Dario Vitale left Versace and in March of this year Pieter Mulier took his place, there had been rumours for some time about the next step of the creative born in 1983.

Dario Vitale joins Emporio Armani as the new creative director.

The new chapter in Dario Vitale’s story is now known to all: he joins the Armani Group as the new Creative Director of the Emporio Armani line, the brand founded by Giorgio Armani in 1981. The name Emporio Armani itself, as stated on the brand’s official website, “evokes the idea of an open and dynamic space, a place where different expressions of style coexist. ‘Emporio’ suggests variety, exchange, and possibility: a complex system that includes formal garments, more casual offerings, and accessories, all linked by a recognizable aesthetic. This plurality is an integral part of the brand’s identity, which develops as a true universe of style.” While Silvana Armani and Leo Dell’Orco co-designed the Fall/Winter 2026-2027 collection , now it will be Dario Vitale who will write the next pages in the history of the brand symbolized by the eagle, reinterpreting with his own stylistic features the concept of relaxed and casual elegance that has characterized Emporio Armani since its inception.

“I am honored to assume this dual role between Emporio Armani and Giorgio Armani and
deeply grateful to Silvana and Leo for welcoming me into their world. Armani boasts an extraordinary legacy and an unmistakable design language: a legacy that spans the decades and has helped shape the history of fashion. I approach this new challenge with a profound sense of responsibility and enthusiasm, aiming to build on these solid foundations and define a new era together,” commented the designer.

Silvana Armani, Head of Women’s Style, and Leo Dell’Orco, Head of Men’s Style for the Armani Group, welcomed him with these words: “For us, Emporio Armani is much more than a line: it is an organization to which we are deeply attached, having followed and shared its journey from the very beginning. Emporio was born as a space of freedom, experimentation, and energy, and we are convinced that the arrival of
Dario, a talent already established on the international scene, will be able to interpret its spirit with respect and authenticity.”

Giuseppe Marsocci, CEO and Managing Director of the Armani Group, commented on Dario Vitale’s appointment as Creative Director of Emporio Armani and Giorgio Armani Accessories: “Dario Vitale’s appointment marks an important milestone for the Armani Group: it strengthens our creative organization and confirms our commitment to looking to the future, consolidating the Group’s evolution while remaining faithful to Giorgio Armani’s values and vision. Emporio Armani is a brand of strategic importance for us and our partners around the world. Giorgio Armani accessories represent a tremendous opportunity. We approach this new phase with enormous confidence.”
