It was reported he escaped to Argentina requesting asylum but ended up flying to Florida since he had to turn his passport for corruption, money laundering, and another crimes.

According to the decision, the Federal Police are investigating suspicions of money laundering, tax evasion, corruption, and other possible crimes allegedly committed by Flávio Bolsonaro in the context of the film’s financing by Daniel Vorcaro, the banker who owned the defunct Banco Master and has been imprisoned since March.

The financing of Bolsonaro’s film is being investigated in two inquiries : the first, led by André Mendonça, is investigating the transfers made by Vorcaro – the circumstances under which they were made, the origin of the money, the exact amount, and its final destination. Investigators suspect that part of the funds was not used for the film but rather to finance expenses for Eduardo Bolsonaro, former congressman and brother of Flávio, in the USA.

The second investigation, led by Minister Flávio Dino, is looking into whether the film’s production company, Go Up Entertainment, used parliamentary amendments – public funds available to members of Congress – to pay for the production. The Federal Police conducted an operation on Thursday, the 10th, with searches targeting Congressman Mário Frias, a former actor and former Secretary of Culture under Bolsonaro, among other targets.

The case burst into the news after the website The Intercept Brasil revealed conversations between Flávio and Vorcaro, in which the candidate requested money to finance the production. Vorcaro ended up paying around ten million euros to the film’s producers, via a fund in the US, out of a total of more than 20 million euros requested by Lula da Silva’s rival in the elections.

Brazilian authorities contacted Argentine police after receiving information that the senator had crossed the border. Flávio is prohibited from leaving Brazil by a decision of the Supreme Federal Court.

The Brazilian Federal Police (PF) is investigating a possible escape by Senator Flávio Bolsonaro to the United States , two days after his defeat in the presidential elections against Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Brazilian authorities contacted Argentine police on Tuesday, October 27th, to verify information that the defeated candidate had crossed the border between the two countries.

According to the Brazilian news portal R7, which cites sources from the Federal Police, Argentine authorities were contacted in the early hours of the morning, but neither confirmed nor denied the possible entry of Flávio Bolsonaro into the country .

The investigation began after the Argentine newspaper Infobae reported that the senator had crossed the border using the identity document and gone to Puerto Iguazú, from where he would travel on a private plane to the United States.

According to Folha de S.Paulo , the Federal Police are checking border crossings and flights between Brazil and Argentina, but have not yet found any record of an official passage by the senator. Rogério Marinho, coordinator of Flávio Bolsonaro’s presidential campaign, denied that the politician had left Brazil.

On Monday, Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes ordered Flávio Bolsonaro to hand over his passports to the Federal Police and prohibited the senator from leaving the country . The decision is related to an investigation involving the parliamentarian and lawyer Willer Tomaz.

Flávio Bolsonaro, who lost the second round of Sunday’s presidential elections to Lula, stated that he would comply with the court order, although he criticized the decision . The senator also denied that he was planning to leave Brazil.
