About the shoes
The Ferragamo Curved 85 leather mules, which are made in Italy, feature a outer composition made out of 100% lambskin. The shoes are comprised of nappa leather, an asymmetric design, curve-edge body, branded footbed, a square open toe, a 3.3-inch stiletto heel and a logo at the sole. The mules currently retail at $1,090 and can be purchased via Ferragamo.com, Farfetch.com or Net-A-Porter. For a similar looking but more affordable mule, you can check out brands like Steve Madden and Vince Camuto.
About the brand
The Ferragamo brand was founded by shoe designer Salvatore Ferragamo. He was born on June 5, 1898 in Bonito, Italy, and was the 11th of 14th children. Ferragamo showed interest in shoe design at an early age. When he was 9, he made his sister a pair of white shoes for her First Communion. By age 11, he had gone to Naples to study shoemaking.
By 1927, Ferragamo had incorporated his first company. It marked the beginning of Salvatore Ferragamo S.p.A., the luxury brand, which was founded in Florence, Italy. At the time, the brand primary focused on women’s footwear and later expanded to more products. In 1938, the first official Salvatore Ferragamo directly-operated stores (DOS) opened in Florence, Rome and London. Now, there are over 300 DOS stores around the world.
