Barron Trump is the youngest son of Donald Trump and his wife Melania (and reportedly sounds like his father). The 18-year-old recently
graduated from high school. Over the summer, the former president spoke about where his son might attend university.
Initially, it was planned that Barron, who was actually supposed to have a completely different name, would follow in his father’s footsteps and attend the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, but ultimately Barron decided to study at New York University (NYU).
As expected, other NYU students have reacted to the news that Barron Trump will be attending the same university as them, and their reactions are, to say the least, interesting.
Donald Trump reveals that Barron attended NYU
As reported by the Daily Mail, Barron Trump will graduate from the prestigious Oxbridge Academy in Palm Beach in May 2024. As previously mentioned, Donald Trump stated that his son had considered attending his alma mater in Pennsylvania but ultimately chose NYU.
The former president told the Daily Mail that Barron “liked” the university (NYU). He added that he had known NYU “for a long time” and that it was “one of the highest-rated.”
It’s a high-quality place. He liked it. He liked the school. I went to Wharton, and we had considered it as well. We didn’t choose it. We chose Stern.
Donald Trump is visibly proud of his son, describing him as a “gifted child” and saying, “He’s doing great.”
Barron Trump was recently spotted on campus, and some of his fellow students have now reacted to the revelation.
Students react to Barron Trump’s visit to NYU
The Daily Mail shared a video on Instagram in which an interviewer asks fellow students at NYU what they think about Barron Trump attending the same university as them.
Some of the reactions are quite funny: One girl explained that her “mother will want me to marry him.” The same student explained that she “feels sorry for him” because he didn’t choose this life.
Another NYU student said she would not judge Barron because he was not his father:
His father is his father, he is his own person. So I will not prejudge him.
Another student speculated about Barron’s future love life, stating that if he became interested in girls, “he’ll be quite liberal”.
He goes to NYU, and if he’s interested in girls at all, he’s going to be pretty liberal, I can tell you that. We are not interested in Secret Service security at all. We don’t care about them. They have to adapt to us. We were here first and the college community is equal as one.
The interviewer also asked the fellow students if they would be friends with Barron. One replied, “Absolutely not,” while the same student who said she wouldn’t judge Barron said:
Of course. Who wouldn’t want to be friends with Trump?
The interviewer, Brooklyn, commented on the Daily Mail article , explaining that most reactions were “positive”:
I’m the reporter in this video, and everyone I spoke to today was mostly delighted to have Barron as a classmate 😄.
