A complicated morning in terms of communication for Barcelona. All of them end their links with the Blaugrana club today, June 30, but João Félix and Cancelo are on loan from Atlético de Madrid and Manchester City respectively and Barça wants them to continue next season, so they must negotiate with the clubs and the announcement, therefore, was wrong.
When they contacted the club’s communications department, they admitted that there was a misunderstanding because what they wanted was to confirm that the loan of the two Portuguese players, whom they want to keep for the next season, had ended.
The chronology of events was as follows. Barcelona, through X (formerly Twitter), announced the departure of Marcos Alonso in a first message. Shortly after, João Félix’s announcement followed and the news that also included Cancelo was already on the website. Moments later, João Félix’s tweet was deleted, although the news remained on the club’s website, which was modified shortly after, only showing the farewell to Marcos Alonso, whom they thank for the services rendered and wish him luck in the future to Portugal player who plays in the Portuguese national team.
