She has chosen Madrid for her university studies. Domino Flint Wood began her new life in the Spanish capital with her mother, India Hicks.

Autumn marks the beginning of a new phase for many people, including Domino Flint Wood , daughter of India Hicks and granddaughter of the recently deceased Lady Pamela Mountbatten. At 18, Domino decided to leave the United Kingdom to begin university studies in Madrid. The young woman arrived in the Spanish capital with her mother, an interior designer and entrepreneur.

“Another heartbreak: losing this girl to university in Spain. But it was time. (Thanks to @hotelurso for helping us find our way),” India Hicks wrote in an Instagram post, accompanied by a series of photos of her with her daughter Domino and her husband.

The three walked through the neighborhoods of Las Salesas and Malasaña and took advantage of these days in the capital to allow the girl to begin to familiarize herself with her new life.

Domino Flint Wood and her ties to the British Royal Family

Domino Flint Wood has close ties to the British royal family. She is the granddaughter of Lady Pamela Mountbatten, first cousin of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and it may have been her grandmother’s story that made her want to study in Spain: by a curious coincidence, Lady Pamela Mountbatten was born in Barcelona in 1929, while her parents were away on holiday and her mother went into labor.

For many years, Lady Pamela was Elizabeth II’s lady-in-waiting and one of her most trusted associates. From her marriage to David Hicks, an interior designer of non-aristocratic origins, she had three children, including India, one of the little girls who appeared on the Buckingham Palace balcony with Lady Diana and Prince Charles on their wedding day.

Her rebellious spirit led her to carve out a path for herself far from the palace circles: she was expelled from a boarding school in Scotland after boys were found in her room and, at 18, she packed her backpack and left for India.

He later moved to Boston to study photography and, after living in Paris and New York, settled in the Bahamas, where he began working in interior design, following in his father’s footsteps. His five children were born there, one of whom he adopted.

Now it’s the youngest, Domino, who has inherited her mother’s restless, cosmopolitan spirit . She too has decided to leave the UK to begin a new phase of her life in Madrid, where she will study Communication and Digital Media.
