German Bundestag President Julia Klöckner, second most powerful woman in Germany and third most powerful woman in Europe advocates for the disclosure of artificial intelligence’s use in writing texts and speeches within the political sphere.
Klöckner: “There is a responsibility when using AI”
The question regarding the use of AI is not whether it should be used, but how, said Klöckner. Many professional groups who write texts every day are affected. It is important that the responsibility lies with the person using AI. They must check sources and texts. “Furthermore, it is good to clearly indicate what is AI-generated,” she added.
The Bundestag administration is also addressing the issue. Employees are using AI to assist them. However, guidelines are needed, said the President of the Bundestag.
The background is criticism of the Thuringian Minister-President Mario Voigt (CDU), because several of his speeches and guest articles are said to have been created with the help of AI, such as a speech on Holocaust Remembrance Day, a funeral speech and a New Year’s address.
