Prosecutors sought nearly two years of jail time, arguing that Ferragni made shoppers think that proceeds of their purchases would go to charity. Instead, Ferragni made separate, onetime donations. In 2023 and 2024, she paid over €2 million in fines related to both cases as she faced online backlash and weathered a very public, tabloid-friendly divorce from Italian rapper Fedez.

Ferragni was once a front-row regular at top runway shows with 28 million Instagram followers and many successful product collaborations. After being sanctioned by the Italian Competition Authority in December 2023, she was dropped by sponsors and disappeared from the fashion circuit. In 2025, she made a quiet return at a handful of shows and started posting #ads again. She also announced that she had bought control of the holding company that controls her various businesses.
Outside the courthouse, Ferragni thanked her lawyers and followers. “The nightmare is over,” she said. “I am very happy to take control of my life and get my life back. It has been a very difficult two years. I had faith in justice, and justice has been done.”
