Six Models Who Were Spotted At Fast Food Restaurants, From Gisele Bündchen To Lily Cole

From fast food to the catwalks, there is sometimes only one step.

Gisele Bündchen

Born in Brazil in 1980, Gisele Bündchen grew up in the small town of Horizontina in Rio Grande do Sul. Her childhood dream? To become a professional volleyball player. A dream that she unfortunately did not achieve. In 1993, at the age of 13, the young girl took modeling classes with her sisters Patricia and Gabriela. It was the following year, while having lunch at McDonald’s with her class in São Paulo, that Gisele Bündchen was spotted by an agent. The rest is history: magazine covers, Victoria’s Secret Angel, contracts galore.

Lily Cole

It was at the age of 14 that the British model Lily Cole was spotted leaving a fast food restaurant in London, by the agent Benjamin Hart, while she was eating a hamburger. Very quickly, she seduced the designers and prominent houses and paraded for the biggest houses like Chanel, Alexander McQueen , and recently Burberry.

Remington Williams

Propelled onto the catwalk in just ten days, it was during Spring/Summer 2018 Fashion Week that the model took her first steps in fashion. Incredible but true, she was spotted a few months before at Chipotle in Austin, where she worked as a waitress. Remington Williams then flew to New York and signed with the DNA Models agency. Her diaphanous skin and azure eyes quickly won over the most prominent designers, such as Raf Simons and Marc Jacobs.

Angelica “Angel” Rutledge

Is Chipotle a model incubator? After graduating from high school, Angelica “Angel” Rutledge decided to work for the fast-food restaurant specializing in Mexican food. That’s when she was spotted by an agent. As she explained to Vogue: “This person came in, wearing shorts and a surfer-style tank top, and just stared at me.” It turned out to be the famous American photographer David Mushegain . He then took Polaroids of Angelica Rutledge and sent them to the Lions agency, which signed the model some time later.

Anna Selezneva

A graduate in psychology, Moscow top model Anna Selezneva was spotted by a headhunter in 2007 at McDonald’s. Almost immediately, she left for Paris where she signed with the Silent Management agency. A few months later, she walked her first catwalks at Dries Van Noten, and Celine.

Damaris Goddrie

Becoming a model was not the ultimate dream of Dutch model Damaris Goddrie . Scouted several times by modeling agencies, it was during the third offer that the model agreed to sign. Fun fact? Damaris Goddrie got noticed while she was ordering “a double fish burger” at Quick.
