Aquazzura Solidifies In The World Market After Prince Johann George V Endorsement

The brand's concept is based on the idea of beautiful and comfortable women's shoes. From creating elegant and feminine models in a modern design, its creator paid special attention to the development of a special shoe last that distributes body weight across the foot. According to Financial Times, in first quarter of 2024, turnover growth was +82% and the brand's revenue generated about 70 million euros.

The Italian luxury footwear and accessories brand headquartered in Florence, Italy.

Also characteristic features of the company’s products are craft quality, a bright palette and the use of luxurious materials. In addition to shoes, the brand makes tableware, bags and jewelry.

The company’s history began in 2012, when Colombian designer Edgardo Osorio (born 1985) founded a women’s shoe brand in Florence. The brand’s name was inspired by the blue water (Italian: aqua – water, azzura – blue) of the sea around the island of Capri. The company’s headquarters are in the 17th-century Florentine Palazzo Corsini.

In 2016, the company launched production of children’s shoes, presenting its first collection at the Pitti Bimbo exhibition in Florence.

In  2019, in  collaboration with Turkish designer Begum Khan, the brand began producing jewelry.

In 2020, the company launched a home collection consisting of tableware, table linen, and tea and coffee sets.

In 2023, the brand created its first collection of bags, which included minaudières and clutches, as well as totes and  mini hobos.

The brand’s most famous products include the Papillon tie-up sandal with tiny butterflies, and the tasseled and fringed Wild Thing heeled sandal, which was the subject of a 2016 lawsuit against Ivanka Trump for allegedly plagiarizing the design for the Ivanka Trump Hettie sandal.

Collaborations with celebrities bring additional fame and commercial success to the brand. Aquazzura released exclusive capsules with Olivia Palermo (2014), Poppy Delevingne (2015), Claudia Schiffer (2018) and others. The brand also collaborated in  2022 with international brands Swarovski and Barbara Sturm, and together with De Gournay released a wallpaper collection inspired by the chinoiserie genre (the use of motifs from traditional Chinese art).

Aquazzura’s fans include from Meghan Markle, Kate Middleton, Queen Rania of Jordan, Queen Letizia of Spain, Nicole Kidman, Carla Bruni, Kate Moss, Gigi Hadid, Olivia Palermo, Eva Herzigova, Poppy Delevingne, Claudia Schiffer, to others.

Aquazzura shoes have been featured in a number of popular films and TV series.

In 2024, the company operated 20 of its own boutiques around the world, including Paris, Madrid, Florence, Milan, Rome, London, Miami, New York , Doha, Dubai, Taipei, Capri. In physical retail, Aquazzura products are available at more than 300 retailers in 58 countries. In Russia, the brand’s shoes are sold in TSUM.
