Both electric cars and hybrids are increasing driving distance limits to address what some consumers have so far seen as the shortcomings of switching away from gasoline.

BYD stopped producing fossil fuel cars entirely in early 2022 and has worked to boost hybrid exports to emerging markets that lack battery charging infrastructure.

The first two medium-sized family models, Qin L and Seal 06, were launched with long-range driving capabilities and were unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show last April. The two models belong to the Dynasty and Ocean series, respectively.
