Boot season has finally arrived, and as we pack our summer sandals away in favour of a more sturdy shoe, there’s no short supply of styles to choose from. While ankle cuts, knee-high styles and good old Uggs all make great choices, this season’s catwalks have added a few extra options to our radar.

So, if you’re looking for one standout autumn fashion find, shoes are a great place to start. After all, few wardrobe staples are as sturdy and stylish as a great boot, and they’re sure to see you through many years of pavement pounding if you take good care of them.

To give you a headstart on the styles you should be adding to your shoe rotation, we’ve listed our favourite runway looks below and the boots to buy to recreate them for every budget.

Over-the-knee boots were a big trend on the autumn/winter 2024 runways, with Gucci, Chloé and Fendi all turning to the thigh-high shoe for this season’s collections. Adding an extra layer of warmth as well as a style statement to any outfit, they’ll elevate a whole host of looks, whether pulled under a midi dress or paired with a more daring short shorts design. Now, unsurprisingly, the high street has followed suit, and there are plenty of styles available in a range of shades, although black and brown remain favourites for good reason.

Suede bags, jackets and now boots are having a real moment this season, and Isabel Marant and Chloé are leading the look. All leg lengths work, no matter if it’s an ankle or a knee-high style, and a wide range of shades, including brown, black and even red, are proving incredibly popular. Just be sure to wear them on dry days, lest you ruin your new shoes with watermarks.

Remember When Gigi Recreated Kim’s Taped-Up Look At Vetements

Kim Kardashian’s wild Balenciaga autumn/winter show look has since faded into the canon of wild Kim looks with her veiled Met Gala 2021 moment and her ode to Marilyn Monroe a year later. When Gigi Hadid cropped up on the Vetements spring/summer 2025 runway at Paris Fashion Week wearing a similar packing-tape yellow get-up, it brought memories of Kim ASMR-ing her way into Le Bourget back again. The Vetements X DHL link-up actually harks back to the spring 2016.
