Russian airstrikes rain down on Ukraine, killing three in Odessa
Denying the White House, the reconstruction is nevertheless in line with the so-called Anchorage formula insisted upon by Moscow and reportedly agreed upon by Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin at the mid-August summit in Alaska. While waiting for the intricate territorial issue to be resolved, Russian forces continue their bombardment, causing at least eight deaths and damaging energy networks in the southeast.
The city of Odessa has also been targeted by drones. Volodymyr Zelensky has emphasized in recent days that an agreement with Washington has been reached on future guarantees for Kiev, assuring that the documents are “100% ready, all that’s missing is the place and date for signing.” The Ukrainian leader would like to conclude the deal soon, also to gain leverage in future talks with Moscow. A final US approval, however, is less certain. According to the British newspaper, the Trump administration is now signaling that its security commitments depend on an agreement between Kiev and Moscow.
