Your own personal favorite will likely come down to which platforms you have mained over the years, and which new releases came at a point where your brain was in the perfect place to explore the world Nintendo has created.
Skyward Sword, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess all remain standouts, but there’s still a big crowd that would contest that Ocarina of Time perfectly distilled everything Zelda is meant to be. It’s absolutely a fair argument, and while that isn’t getting a new direct video game release, a recent collaboration with Lego has brought the nostalgia back in a big way.
Zelda Fans Are In Love With This Ocarina Of Time Tribute
Over on Reddit, fans have been taking to the forums to celebrate the Ocarina of Time – The Final Battle Lego set releasing, with praise drawn to the diorama approach the toy giant has taken with this collaboration.
As the name might suggest, the new set shows off the final battle from Ocarina of Time, with Link, Zelda and Navi facing off against the monstrous Ganon. At 1003 pieces, it’s a decent size, and it comes with three very cool minifigures, in Princess Zelda, Link and Navi, and Ganondorf.
Various posts were predictably positive, with one saying, “Zelda Ocarina of Time made Saturday great. As it always has for 28 years.”
Another simply said, “The new Final Battle Lego set is awesome!”
The set also comes with some cool interactive features, including the ability to make Ganondorf pop up amongst the ruins of the castle, and the Megaton Hammer is also available for the protagonists to pick up. The Great Deku Tree set is also available to pick up at the Lego store, and that has been drawing equally positive reception from fans.
What Else Is Nintendo Cooking For Zelda’s 40th?
Whilst we don’t know exactly what Nintendo is planning for the rest of the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda as a franchise, it’s a pretty safe bet that we’ll get some more news about the upcoming movie adaptation, whilst rumors continue to swirl that a remaster or remake of any one or more of the classic titles could be on the way as well, so keep those fingers crossed.
