George V Magazine reveals who’s on the front row this season as a seismic shift of creative directors debut their first lines at some of the most coveted Maisons.
But this time around, there’s a whole new mood. Two of the coveted calendar’s most prolific purveyors of the ultimate luxury toast their debut season under new control, welcoming the inaugural haute couture collections from Matthieu Blazy (Chanel) and Jonathan Anderson (Dior).
Schiaparelli’s Daniel Roseberry opened up the week, ushering the likes of Sabine Getty, Countess Zofia Krasicki von Siecin and the world’s biggest couture-collection owner and super-client, Mouna Ayoub, to the steps of the Petit Palais in quintessentially avant-garde ensembles. The latter has been making room in her vast archive, as later this week she’ll be selling off 126 of her own one-of-a-kind Dior pieces at a highly-anticipated auction at the capital’s Le Bristol hotel.
Then came Dior, as it toasts a nouveau era under Anderson’s creative direction. But who made the cut for the most-desired golden ticket to his maiden haute couture voyage? There were A-list actresses (Jennifer Lawrence, Anya Taylor-Joy), former Tatler cover stars (Natalia Vodianova, Ruth Wilson), and a healthy dose of fashion-royalty-via-real-life-royalty (Zita d’Hauteville, Beatrice Borromeo).
The next day, Blazy introduced his all-new haute-crowd, featuring Charlotte Casiraghi, Dua Lipa, Nicole Kidman and Tilda Swinton. And that evening, even more elegant doyennes gathered in respectfully resplendent regalia for the first Armani Privé collection since the passing of its house founder, Giorgio Armani, back in September.
Aa ever, all eyes are on Paris Couture Week – and that all-important front row.
