At the Kering Caring for Women Dinner, Kim Kardashian Embraces the Wet Look

The event—which raised over $3 million to support the Girl Effect, It’s On Us, and the National Network to End Domestic Violence—counted Salma Hayek Pinault, François-Henri Pinault, Matthew McConaughey, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Donatella Versace, Naomi Watts, and Kim Kardashian among the star-studded list of cohosts.

Amidst the spectacle of New York Fashion Week, guests at The Kering Foundation’s Caring for Women dinner brought out looks that rivaled those walking down the runway.

For the occasion, Kardashian turned to frequent collaborator Demna, who fashioned a made-to-measure iteration of look 60 from his spring 2024 collection for Balenciaga. The white sleeveless, calf-length bodycon dress looked as though someone poured liquid rubber all over Kardashian’s figure, clinging to every curve. (The runway interpretation was much looser.) The dress took a wet T-shirt to the nth degree and was complete with an asymmetrical hem.

The reality star opted for wet, wavy hair to mimic the dress. It would have been nice to see her fully commit to the look, as she did at the 2019 Met Gala in a Mugler minidress that looked as though it was dripping. (Though, being that this was a dinner and not the Met, Kardashian left her corset at home. Her organs surely thank her.) A simple black pump, while classic, was a safe choice from someone known to take fashion risks.
