The activities I did, including going to the ballet and watching a jazz concert, were just what I needed to unwind from a busy week! I slept well, and, of course, the weather was perfect, which allowed for a bit more fun in terms of planning my outfits. The layers came off, meaning my weekend uniform included flowy silk skirts and tank tops; even in that I was sweating, so you can imagine my surprise when I saw a recent Sarah Jessica Parker look that was the complete opposite of what I was wearing.
Parker took the latter route, going more casual-comfy with her errand-running look—and I say errand running because she was lugging multiple bags on her shoulders, a moment many New Yorkers can relate to. We schlep a lot, and for that, many bags are needed (just more proof that SJP is, in fact, a relatable Queen).
She rounded out the outfit with a gray top that she tucked in, a black bomber jacket, her signature shield-like sunglasses, and those genius clog slides she’s worn for decades. Seriously.
Parker is a steadfast clog fan—look back to her outfits in the ‘90s, and you’ll see her wearing chunky, wood-sole clogs. Look at her outfits today, and she’s still wearing a very similar footwear style. SJP is a creature of habit, but beyond that, the fact that she sported the quintessential “ugly” shoes is proof that clogs are worth a go—even beyond the garden.

This is for good reason. Clogs are incredibly comfortable, not to mention super easy to wear; simply slip into them and you’re ready to go. An easy shoe like that is all most of us have time for when we run out there—so it’s a good thing the footwear is also now considered trendy, thanks to SJP and a slew of other celebrities like Gisele Bündchen and Reese Witherspoon.
Sorry not sorry to the haters, but clogs are here to stay. So, hope aboard with one of the below styles that are oh-so cool, like these M.Gemis that keep selling out.
